"Well what is it Nicki, I'm listening" Lauren spoke softly.

"Well when I came home early from Safaree's...."

*beep*

"I'll call you back, someone's on the other line, love you"

"Hello"

"Hey Nic it's SB!" he said excitedly.

"Boy what you doing awake?"

"What you mean? It's Friday night"

"Oh yeah!!! I forgot"

Nicki was going to tell him about what just happened. But she didn't know when.

"Oh but I called cuz Nike emailed me back! I got the deal!"

"OMG safaree that's great!!!"

"Yeah I am sooooo excited, this is a dream come true!"

*Beep* 

"Ugh let me call you back someone's calling"

"Hello" 

"Hi this is an automated message from LaGuardia Highschool. This message is for the parent or guardian of Onika Maraj"

Nicki started to sweat.. She was nervous.

"We are calling on behalf of onika's grades. She has a failing grade in Math and English. She has missed 14 days of school. Please call us back at 212 568 6745. Thank you."

Nicki fell to her knees. She knew if she didn't fix this she would be kicked out of the art school. Why was everything happening to her? She knew she had to call Lauren and SB back but she was too drained. She was very happy for SB so she didn't want to tell him anything that could take away from his time to shine. She loved Lauren like a sister but the more she thought about the situation the more she wanted to hide it. She gave up for the night and fell asleep.


NEXT DAY.

Nicki woke up to the sound of her phone vibrating and then falling right off the nightstand. She leaned over n picked it up. It was a text from SB.

ScaffBaby: Hey I have a surprise for you! I'm coming to get u at 1pm be ready ok? :)

NickiBaby: ok but don't be trying no crazy shit lol what should I wear?

ScaffBaby: jeans and a tshirt.. You know, the norm. Go get ready! See u soon. :p 

NickiBaby: Can't wait ;)

Nicki got out of bed and looked at the clock. 11:57 already. She knew no one would be home all day so she could just leave. She looked in her dresser drawers to find something cute. She pulled out a white v neck t shirt, some regular snug fitting jeans, and a pink and white belt. She put everything on and grabbed accessories, she grabbed pink earrings and her pink and white plastic bracelets. With that, she went to the bathroom and curled her hair and did her make up. She kept looking at the bruise on her neck. She had covered it with make up but in her mind she could still see it. She finally gave up and left.  She stood outside waiting for SB because he was gonna be there any minute. When he arrived, she felt an excited feeling in her stomach. She got up and ran to his car. He got out and opened the door for her. 

"Thank you SB"

"You're welcome Nicki"

"Nicki..."

"yes?"

"I have a surprise for you. We are going to see it."

They drove for about 10 minutes when Nicki looked up and saw them sitting outside of SB's apartment.

"Umm why are we here? If the surprise is in your house why didn't you just bring it to me?"

"Haha it's not that simple. Let's go"

SB hopped out of the car and opened Nickis door. He took her up the stairs and before he opened the door he put a blindfold on her. 

"You can't see until I get you in front of it." 

"ok"

He led her into a room into the house and sat her down. She felt that it was a bed but it was not Safaree's bed. He pulled the blindfold off of her and she screamed.

"SAFAREE OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?"

"Yes Nicki. Only for you."

Nicki looked around. The walls were a pale pink and had big letters over her white wooden bed that said "Nicki's Room". She couldn't believe it. He had turned his guest room into a room for her and he nailed it. She loved it with every fiber of her being. He knew her so well. 

"Nicki" "Nicki" "NICKI"

"Oh, sorry. What?"

"Do you like it?"

"SB.... I love it. It's beautiful. How did you know what to do?"

"Nicki.. I know you. I know everything about you. Nicki I want to tell you something." 

"Ok and then I have something to tell you too"

He scooted closer to Nicki on the bed and then he grabbed her hand and held it. She was a little confused at this point because she didn't know what to think but she went with it because they were best friends and she trusted him.

"Ok Nicki.. Umm. I was kinda trying to plan my speech but whatever.. Here it goes... I just wanted to tell you that.. When you are away from me, I can't focus. When you are mad at me I can't eat or sleep. When you are at home and I think you are being hurt it takes everything in me not to come over there and get you. What I am trying to say is I love you Nicki.. Not just as a friend. MORE than that. I want to be with you. Hold you when you are in need and give you a kiss goodbye. I hope you understand."

They sat in silence while she took it all in.. *pauz*  She was thinking how could she might ruin the moment if she told SB what was happening at home.

"So what did you have to tell me Nicki?" he asked sounding discouraged.

"I'm shocked because that's EXACTLY what I wanted too. I was gonna tell you the same thing."

Just then SB kissed her lips for the first time. It was great. Passionate. He loved every second. He pushed her back on the bed and started sucking her neck.

"No.. No Safaree that hurts.. I mean I don't want to do this right now."

"What? I hurt u Nicki? I'm sorry what did I do?" 

"No you didn't hurt me, I didn't mean to say that. I'm sorry."

Nicki felt bad and didn't feel like explaining anything to Safaree so she grabbed his head and kissed him more. She got up and got on his lap. 

"I love you Safaree. I love you so much." 

She said in between kisses. He loved her back and these kisses were only out of pure love but he was starting to get really aroused. He wanted to stop because he didn't want to have sex with her. He loved her and she was still a virgin.

"ooooh Safaree this is soo good. "

"I know Nicki I love it too but look what time it is.."

It was 10pm. Nicki almost had a heart attack. Her mom gets home at 10 and her dad gets home at 10:30. She was never supposed to even leave the house.

"Come on, I gotta take you home."

SB pulled in the driveway and kissed Nicki goodbye. He waited until she got inside and then he pulled off.

AT NICKI'S HOUSE.

"Onika where have you been?" Nicki's mother asked.

"Oh I had a job interview at 7 and then I missed the bus so I had to wait on Safaree to come get me. I'm sorry mom."

"It's fine but next time please let me know. I don't want you in the streets at night." she said concerned.

"Yes ma'am."

With that Nicki went in her room. When she walked down the hall she saw her dad in his room drinking beer. This was no surprise because this is what he always did but today she felt worried. She was scared. Her heart beated fast as she kept walking to her room. She felt like something would happen tonight... She hurriedly hopped in the shower, washed up and got out. She put on her pink thing and safaree's shirt that said "wanna Minaj". They had gotten their shirts at her first club appearance when she was 16. She was now 17 and didn't do clubs anymore because her mom didn't want her to do them until she was 18 so she had to wait. She was really tired so she slid in her bed and pulled out her phone. She changed Safaree's name to baby because she loved him. He had already changed hers. My Love: Goodnight Safaree. I love you. Baby: Goodnight Nicki. I love you too. :) She layed her phone down and was flipping thru the tv channels. Just then, her door creeped open.....
